Turbinicarpus pseudomacrochele (group) Synonyms- Pediocactus pseudomacrochele, Neolloydia pseudomacrochele, Toumeya pseudomacrochele, Strombocactus pseudomacrochele, Description- Body- Solitary occasionally clustering , globular depressed, wide pale green to darker green with woolly top. 20-40mm wide, 25-35mm high. Root- Taproot. Tubercles- Low and rounded conical 3-5mm long. Spines- Radials- 5-8 yellowish-brown becoming greyish mostly erect bristly and twisted 15-30mm long. Centrals- None. Flowers- White to reddish purple to yellowish green to magenta 25-32mm long, 20-35mm wide. Fruits- Green nearly round 4-6mm long. Distribution- Found in the states of Queretaro, Hidalgo (Mexico). Notes- This species is fairly robust, fast and fairly easy to grow. Requires full sun and careful watering to keep plant compact.
