Turbinicarpus schmiedickeanus ssp schwarzii Synonyms- Turbinicarpus schwarzii, Strombocactus schwarzii, Pediocactus schmiedickeanus var schwarzii, Turbinicarpus schmiedickeanus ssp klinkerianus f schwarzii, Description- Body- Solitary, flattened globular, 5-15mm high 40-50mm wide pale green to greenish-blue to greenish-brown. Root- Taproot. Tubercles- Rounded with rhomboidal base. Spines- Radials- None. Centrals- 1-2 very papery yellow-grey 20-25mm long. Flowers- White with brownish midribs 30mm long, 35mm wide. Fruits- Greenish to brown. Distribution- Guadalcazar in the state of San Lois Potosi (Mexico). Altitude 1500m. Notes- This species is fairly robust and fairly easy to grow. Requires full sun and careful watering to keep plant compact. |
