Turbinicarpus swobodae


Synonyms- Pediocactus swobodae.


Description-

   Body- Solitary, depressed globular to short cylindrical, 30mm high 50mm wide dark grey-green.

   Root- Pseudo-taproot.

   Tubercles- Pyramidal quadrangular 3-5mm long.

   Spines- Radials- 4-7 grey-black rigid 15-18mm long.

               Centrals- None.

   Flowers- White to cream to bright yellow 10-16mm long 13-22mm wide.

   Fruits- Greenish becoming brownish 5-7mm long 3.5-4mm wide.


Distribution- Rayones in the state of Nueve Leon (Mexico).


Notes-

This species is not easy hot still air can kill the plant. Requires full sun, good ventilation and careful watering to keep plant compact.
