Turbinicarpus schmiedickeanus (group) Synonyms- Echinocactus schmiedickeanus, Strombocactus schmiedickeanus, Toumeya schmiedickeanus, Neolloydia schmiedickeanus, Pediocactus schmiedickeanus. Description- Body- Solitary globular flattened, 10-30mm high 15-50mm wide dull green to blue-green. Root- Taproot. Tubercles- Conical elongated to broad and rounded. Spines- Radials- None. Centrals- 1-10 variable very papery grey-brown very twisted, 20mm long. Flowers- White, cream, greenish-yellow or magenta 15-26mm long, 10-32mm wide. Fruits- Rounded. Distribution- In the states of Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosi and Tamaulipas (Mexico). Notes- This species is easy to cultivate but slow growing. Very yearly flowering. Requires full sun and careful watering to keep plant compact.
